Commercial & Advertising Detailing
The detailer for high-stakes commercial advertising.
James Dawson is the automotive advertising secret weapon. Years spent mastering an on-set process built to help car creatives do their best work — without slowing production down.
Why productions hire James
Commercial shoots have dozens of moving parts. Let James handle the car.
My work is integral to productions on stringent schedules that have no margin for error. Your creative team has enough on their plate — they deserve a detailer who matches their passion.
Pixel-perfect prep
Modern cameras are unforgiving. Fingerprints, dust, alignment — one missed detail sticks out on an otherwise perfect car. I catch it before the shutter does.
Anywhere in the world
Two travel cases packed with everything needed to detail a fresh vehicle on location. For US east coast shoots, my mobile truck brings a water tank for wetting asphalt.
Zero-drama on set
Supporting the creatives, never interfering. Your team runs the shoot; I stay in the periphery keeping the car locked in between takes.
Interior shots
A dedicated detailer rescues tricky interior frames.
Interior materials are finicky and unforgiving. A brief repositioning can introduce a smudge that renders a shot unusable. When I prep an interior, it's commercial-ready — fingerprints on starter switches, misaligned vents, carpet fibers, alcantara patterns — all handled before the frame is composed.
- · Fingerprint & smudge control on switches and screens
- · Alcantara pattern reset between takes
- · Vent alignment, steering wheel centering, seatbelt dressing
- · Dust control for macro / close-up frames
